Best Budget-Priced Hobby Grade RC?
The HAIBOXING 1:18 18859E RC Truck is easily one of the best values you can get in the RC world. A high-quality hobby grade RC for under $100. From the tried-and-true design to the plastics and composite materials used to construct it, this little monster truck is very well made. In its stock form this RC would be great for kids. It is very durable and easy to drive, and it'll be fast and powerful enough to keep them entertained for hours using the two included 850a Li-Po batteries. These provide long run times and are easily recharged using the included USB charger. The only complaint I would have are the friction shocks. Even with the slower brushed motor, upgrading to oil-filled shocks would make a world of difference in handling and make the truck much more fun to drive, which leads us to this RC truck’s best trait, it's highly upgradeable.

The brushed motor and friction shocks will be a bit pedestrian for more experienced enthusiasts, and they will want more speed and better handling. This is easily achieved with upgrades and you could either go with aftermarket upgrades or use the HAIBOXING factory upgrades which are awesome. Quality performance upgrades like oil-filled shocks and an all-metal driveline will allow you to ultimately upgrade to a brushless system and be able to handle the increased speed and power. This is what makes HAIBOXING such an awesome value, the ability to upgrade and repair as needed with easily accessible parts. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get into the RC world on a budget or long-time enthusiast looking for a fun customizable project. A solid 5 stars.

premium RC monster truck with lots of detail and bells and whistles. A+
nothing but high praise for this RC truck. It has big knobby tires, a cool suspension system on each tire, comes with stickers to decorate it the way that you want. the remote control that has a control knob disguised as a “wheel” with a wonderfully tactile soft spongy, but not too spongy soft, feel to it. It’s a great feature too that it has an extra battery included, as well as a robust instruction manual. To be honest, as we know, the only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys; and I believe any (adult male or) boy would be glad to have this under his Christmas tree (age up until about 14 or 15 then they’d get to “cool“ for it probably until they hit 18 or 19 again and realize they ate not too cool and its just a fun toy to be enjoyed.) I know I will enjoy skittering it across the grass, concrete and dirt for some virtual small scale vicarious off-road driving action. I was a little surprised that the body panel, the part pictured in orange, was basically just a very fine plastic sheath over the body almost film like; but, that is probably better than if it were the hard plastic I was expecting for any tumbles and spills that it inevitably will take. The chosen material likely is much more resilient to “bumps and bruises” of hard action play driving, as opposed to a rigid plastic that I was expecting, which would likely be more brittle and more prone to break. so if my kids dont take it over, gonna have some fun times driving it around, maybe even jumps jumps on the local skate park and environs. as mentioned would make a great gift boys (and girls too, that like RC monster trucks!) im not saying do this, but its a multipurpose fun giver, potentially: i bet the dog would love to chase it if you tied a small stuffed animal toy to the back, like a rabbit or etc., and took off - the custom chase would be on! The box that it comes in as ultra premium, which I always like, because if you wrap it and you open it up and there’s a nice box with lots of graphics and descriptions and stuff, it just adds to the appeal of the gift that you’ve given.
